I really struggled with this one. Not only was it more photorealistic than I wanted, but the bird blends with the water more than I hoped it would in the painting.
This is closer to I wanted, though the glow is brighter than I would like. I wanted something that highlighted the bird, without overpowering it, and drew the eye to how obvious the Osprey was once you saw it on the piling… a piling it did a surprisingly good job of blending in with.
